We do not issue or apply for PCCs. A Passport Seva Kendra, POPSK or Regional Passport Office issues it, or the police. Once you hold the certificate, we can get it apostilled.
Three permits, one PCC line
The embassy's supporting-documents list for Indian applicants has separate sections for study, family reunification and work. Each one includes a clear character certificate from the police, which in India means your PCC. The PCC line looks the same in all three. The other documents around it differ.

Originals only
The embassy list ends each section with the same warning: only original documents are accepted. For your PCC that means two things.
- The apostille goes on the original PCC, never on a photocopy or printout
- You need the original back in good time for your embassy appointment, so plan the courier legs
The list says that for Indian documents the apostille is issued by the Ministry of External Affairs. It names the apostille clearly for birth and school certificates. For the PCC it is less specific, so universities, employers and agents differ. Many ask for the apostille so the file has no gaps. If your list says it, we add it. If you are unsure, ask the person managing your application before you book an appointment.

A note for job seekers
Hungary has changed its rules for guest workers from outside the EU, and the scheme has been narrowed. Recruiters' promises from a year or two ago may no longer match the current rules. Before you pay for any document work, confirm with your employer that your permit category is still open. We only process documents. We cannot advise on job offers or permit eligibility.

Questions about PCC apostille for Hungary
Can I apostille my school certificates for the Hungary list at the same time?
Yes. Education documents go through Notary + SDM or State HRD before the MEA. See educational certificate attestation and ask us to quote the full set.
The embassy says originals only. Will the apostille damage my PCC?
No. The MEA attaches the apostille to the original. It stays a single original document.
My spouse lives in Hungary. Does my PCC go to them or to the embassy?
For a family reunification permit applied from India, the PCC goes in your file at the embassy appointment. Follow the instructions given with your appointment.
How old can the PCC be?
The embassy list does not give a limit. Many offices want a recent PCC, so check with your university, employer or the embassy before you apply for it.
Does Hungary need Hungarian Embassy attestation on the PCC?
No. Hungary is a Hague Convention country. Where an Indian document needs certifying, the MEA apostille is the step used.
