Apostille or embassy attestation?
The destination country decides this, not the type of degree. Countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention accept a single MEA apostille. Countries outside it, such as the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait, need the degree attested by the MEA and then by that country's embassy in India.
If you are not sure which group your country is in, send us the country name and, if you have it, the checklist from your university or visa office. We read the checklist before we start, because some institutions ask for an extra step that the general rule does not mention.
The two ways a degree reaches the MEA
The MEA does not verify a degree directly from the university. It needs the document to be authenticated first, either by a Notary and the SDM, or by the State Higher Education Department (State HRD).
Route A
Notary + SDM → MEA
Accepted by many apostille countries and the usual choice when the checklist does not ask for state verification. Price ₹1,500 per document for the full route.
Route B
State HRD → MEA
Required for Italy, Spain and Portugal, for embassy attestation countries, and whenever a checklist asks for verification by the state education department.
Germany: both routes are in use. Some universities and visa checklists ask for State HRD verification, others accept Notary + SDM. Send us your checklist and we will tell you which one applies.

Questions about degree apostille
Can I get a provisional certificate or marksheet apostilled too?
Yes. Provisional certificates, marksheets, transcripts and diplomas follow the same routes as the degree. Each document is charged separately.
Will the apostille be on the original or on a copy?
The MEA apostille is fixed to the original document you send. That is why we ask for the original and return it to you once the work is done.
I live outside Delhi. Do I need to come to your office?
No. Courier the originals to our New Ashok Nagar office. When the work is complete we send them back by Blue Dart or another secure courier and share the tracking number.
My degree is from a university in another state. Is that a problem?
No. For the Notary + SDM route the state does not matter. For the State HRD route, verification is done by the education department of the state where the university is located, and we handle that for you.
How long does it take?
It depends on the route and on the country. We give you a time estimate together with the price, before you send the documents.
