Where attested papers are used in Oman
Oman treats Indian documents as valid once they carry the Oman Embassy stamp on top of the Indian attestations. These are the situations our Oman clients mention most often.
- Employment visa, where the employer needs proof of your qualification

Planning one batch for the whole family
Families often send the degree first, then realise a few weeks later that the marriage certificate and the children's birth certificates are needed too. Sending everything in one batch saves a second round of couriers. Here is a typical set, grouped by person.
The employee
Qualification papers
Highest degree or diploma, marksheets if asked for, and a passport copy. Education documents go through State HRD before the MEA.
The spouse
Marriage certificate
The original marriage certificate with passport copies of both spouses. If the spouse will also work in Oman, add their degree to the same batch.
The children
Birth and school records
Birth certificates for the residence visa. Some schools in Oman also ask for attested transfer certificates or report cards, so check with the school.
Name check: a child's birth certificate sometimes shows the parents' names differently from their passports. Look for this before sending. A mismatch is easier to fix in India than after you arrive.
The Indian side of the chain
The first office depends on the type of document. After that, every Oman document follows the same path.

- Oman EmbassyThe Embassy of Oman in New Delhi adds its stamp. This is the last step in India.

If a document is in Hindi or a regional language and the Omani office asks for Arabic or English, we arrange the translation. Tell us at the start, so it is planned along with the attestation.
The last stamp, in Oman
Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs usually adds a final attestation after the documents arrive in the country. This step is completed in Oman, by you, your employer or your sponsor. We do not handle it. Ask your employer whether they submit the papers for you or expect you to do it, and carry the attested originals with you when you travel.
For exporters and companies
Indian businesses trading with Oman use the commercial route: Chamber of Commerce, then the MEA, then the Oman Embassy. Typical documents are commercial invoices, certificates of origin, a power of attorney for a local agent, and board resolutions. We quote per document and can take a full shipment set at once. Questions about Oman attestation
My children's school in Oman wants their transfer certificate attested. Can you do that?
Yes. School documents such as transfer certificates are attested for Oman. Send a photo and we will confirm the first step, which depends on the school board and the state.
We married in one state and live in another. Does that change the route?
The marriage certificate is verified in the state that issued it. We arrange that from Delhi, and we tell you if that state needs extra papers.
Does my employer's visa process need a police clearance certificate?

Can I send only copies?
No. The stamps are placed on the original documents, so we need the originals. We return them once the Oman Embassy step is done.
