We do not make or apply for police clearance certificates. Passport Seva (PSK, POPSK or the Regional Passport Office) or your police office issues the PCC to you. Our work starts once the certificate is in your hands.
What Czech offices expect from an Indian applicant
Indians most often meet this requirement when an employer in the Czech Republic sponsors an employee card, or when someone applies for a long-term residence permit or long-term visa. The extract of criminal records is a standard item on those lists, and your Indian PCC fills that slot.
The Czech Embassy in New Delhi is clear on the legal side. Indian documents are apostilled by Indian authorities, and the embassy does not superlegalise them. So there is no Czech Embassy stamp to chase in Delhi. Once the MEA apostille is on your PCC, the Indian part of the authentication is finished.
The embassy is equally clear that it does not translate documents or certify translations you bring. The applicant arranges an official translation. That is the step people tend to leave until the last week, and it is where most Czech files get held up.
Two kinds of PCC, two starting points
Passport office PCC
Straight to the MEA
A PCC printed by the Regional Passport Office through Passport Seva goes directly for the apostille. ₹1,000.
Police-issued PCC
State check first
A certificate from a police station, SP or Commissioner needs state authentication first. Notary + SDM costs ₹1,500 in total where it is accepted. The Home Department of the state that issued the PCC is on quote.
The Czech translation
Czech authorities read Czech, and the embassy expects the translation to be an official one. When the embassy says "official translator", it points applicants to translators registered with the Czech justice system. Some offices and employers insist on exactly that. Others accept a Czech translation prepared in India.
We translate PCCs into Czech. Before we start, we ask which format your office or your employer's relocation team wants, and we tell you plainly what that means for you. If they need a translator from the Czech register, we say so before you pay us for a translation, and you send the apostilled PCC to that translator instead.
- Order of work: apostille first, translation second, so the translation can cover the apostille certificate as well as the PCC.
- Spelling: your name in the translation should follow your passport exactly. Give us the spelling your employer used in the work contract if it differs.
- Family members: if a spouse's or adult child's checklist lists a PCC, each certificate is apostilled and translated as a separate document.
What to send and how it runs
- The original PCC
- A clear copy of your passport (front and back pages)
- The permit you are applying for: employee card, long-term residence or visa
- Any instruction from your employer or office about the translation format
- Photo on WhatsAppWe check which kind of PCC you have and confirm the route, price and translation format.
- Original to usDrop it at New Ashok Nagar if you are in Delhi, or courier it from your city.
- AuthenticationStraight to the MEA, or Notary + SDM or Home Department first for a police PCC.
- Translation, if orderedDone after the apostille, in the agreed format.
- ReturnCollect in Delhi, or receive it by Blue Dart or another secure courier.
We give you a time estimate with the price, before you send anything.
How recent should the PCC be?
Check your own checklist, because Czech offices and employers set this themselves. Many want a recent certificate. If your appointment has moved and the PCC is getting older, ask the office whether it still counts before you pay for an apostille and a translation. The apostille does not refresh an old PCC.
Questions about PCC apostille for the Czech Republic
Does the Czech Embassy in Delhi need to stamp my PCC after the apostille?
No. The embassy states that Indian documents need only the Indian apostille, with no superlegalisation. You do not need to visit the embassy for the PCC.
Will the embassy check or certify a translation we prepare?
No. The embassy does not provide translations and does not attest translations made by others. Whether a translation is accepted is decided by the office that receives your file.
Should I translate the PCC before or after the apostille?
After. A translation made first will not include the apostille certificate, and some offices want both pages in Czech.
My employer's agent in Prague wants a scan before the original. Is that fine?
Yes. Once the apostille is done we can send you a scan to forward, while the original travels back to you by courier.
My PCC is from a police station in Punjab, but I live in Delhi now. Which Home Department is used?
The Home Department of the state that issued the PCC, which here is Punjab. Where you live now does not change that. Notary + SDM is the other option where your office accepts it.
